greek

35 15 with a Windows shortcut that works

Greek letters with Alt codes, in upper and lower case, for mathematical and scientific notation.

This group holds 35 characters. They run from U+0391 to U+03C9, close enough together to share a neighbourhood but not a single contiguous run. They are drawn from Greek and Coptic (35) in the Unicode Standard, which is what decides how each one is encoded and how software sorts and compares it.

Most of the traffic to this group is for α, β and Δ. The phrase people type for the first of those is alpha symbol, which is worth knowing if you are looking for it under another name.

All 35 come from Greek and Coptic: the Greek alphabet, used throughout mathematics and the sciences. A block is an address rather than a category, and this group is drawn from that block alone.

15 of the 35 have a Windows Alt code that works as printed. The rest are copy and paste, which works the same everywhere.

Of the 35, 2 have a Mac shortcut of their own. Everything else in this drawer is reached by copying it or by its codepoint, which works in every application on every system.

Every character below copies with one click. Each one also has a guide page with its Windows, Mac and HTML route written out.
